Westborough – Can you answer this trivia question: “What is a great way to spend a few hours with your Westborough friends and neighbors as you exercise your brain, your civic pride, and your silly bone, all while supporting all six Westborough Public Schools?”

The answer is easy! Bring your family to the Westborough Education Foundation (WEF) Trivia Bee on Monday, Oct. 29, at 6:30 p.m. at the DoubleTree Hotel in Westborough.

The WEF is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing financial support to foster excellence and innovation in education in Westborough.

The Trivia Bee will challenge teams to bring forth their best and brightest to compete. Questions will feature New England sports, popular culture, government, science, the arts, literature, and Westborough history. There will be kids’ activities, silent auction items, raffles, food and music, and prizes for Best Dressed/Costume and Most Spirited teams. Kids are encouraged to dress up in costume. The demonstrations by the award-winning Westborough High School Robotics team is sure to be a hit with the kids.

The Trivia Bee is the WEF’s largest single fundraiser with past attendance of 500 people. A $5 donation per person ($20 family cap) at the door includes pizza, drink and dessert. Funds from the 2017 event supported $23,000 in educational grants for all six of Westborough’s public school, allowing teachers to develop creative programs in literature and language, the arts, technology, social studies, science and math.

Sponsors can enter their own team or request a team from the schools and community to represent them. Neighborhood groups, local businesses, and non-profit community organizations are all welcome and encouraged to sponsor a team.
