Region – It’s been said that apathy is the enemy of a healthy democracy. Today, citizens frequently share their disdain for the current political climate through inflammatory social media posts and impassioned water cooler banter…but as they say, talk is just talk. For an opinion to truly matter, it needs to be shared in the voting booth where it will be added to the opinions of others, both like-minded and not, to provide clear direction to our government.
We will see next week if voters have grown weary enough of the status quo that they will finally show up at the polls in force in order to affect real change and to have their voices heard.
