Shrewsbury – Wilfred E. “Bill” Moineau, 78, passed away Nov. 16, 2018 at Notre Dame Healthcare after a period of declining health.
He leaves his beloved wife of 53 years, the love of his life, Maureen (Simoneau) Moineau; his sons, Paul Moineau and his wife Judy, Jeff Moineau and his wife Laura and Chris Moineau and his wife Kimberly; his brother, Joseph Moineau and his wife Claudette, and sister, Marie Rouse; his grandchildren, Ashley, Catherine, Kevin, Christie, Stephen and Evan Moineau and Brittany Williams; a great-granddaughter, Sophia; and several nieces and nephews.
Bill was born April 4, 1940 in Framingham, son of the late Delia (Leveille) and Hubert Moineau. His roots were in Marlborough and he earned his degree from Lowell Technical Institute and he has remained close with his Omicron Pi fraternity brothers throughout his life.
He owned and operated his family owned business, Automatic Specialties for nearly 50 years.
Away from work Bill was known to complete beautiful finished woodwork in his home, enjoy a round of golf locally at Marlborough Country Club or in Florida during the winter with friends and he and Maureen traveled internationally to France and Aruba along with memorable trips to Hawaii and Prince Edward Island. He adored his Golden Retrievers at home and was happiest with family at his side.
All are welcome to gather with Bill’s family Monday, Nov. 19, from 4-7 p.m., at Roney Funeral Home, 152 Worcester St., N. Grafton. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, Nov. 20, at 10 a.m., at St. Gabriel the Archangel Parish, 151 Mendon St., Upton. Burial will be private at his family’s convenience.
