Jacob L. CombsHudson – With deepest sorrow, the family of Jacob Lyons Combs announces his sudden passing Dec. 17, 2018.  Beloved husband of Elizabeth, adored son of Carl and Christine, loving brother of Samuel, Jake will be missed always by a large, loving family of aunts, uncles, cousins, sisters- and brothers-in-law, one niece, four nephews, and many great friends.

In recent years, Jake had come to know his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ to a greater depth, and we are confident he is there with Him now, along with his cherished grandparents and Aunt Ann Priester.

Jake was a lover of the arts – music (especially old vinyl), poetry, fine art, anything uniquely, beautifully made. Also a lover of his wife’s delicious, creative cooking – something they texted back and forth about as she prepared dinner, a time together that they both anticipated each day. Whenever Jake talked about Liz, he always called her “his beautiful wife.”

Jake had an amazing musical ear and beautiful voice and recorded many of his own soulful ballads and solo guitar pieces over the years, as well as re-mixing others tunes, and maybe most of all, enjoyed jamming with buddies Dan Bates and Mike Generoso.

Jake was a New Englander. Growing up in Bolton, graduated from The New England Institute of Art majoring in Audio Engineering. He went on to work for Bose and most recently for The Channel Company. Jake was a fierce fan of New England sports, especially the Celtics, and most recently cheered them on with Dan Bates.

Calling hours will be held Friday, Dec. 21, from 4-7 p.m., at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, 50 Central St., Hudson. There will be a celebration of life Saturday, Dec. 22, at 11 a.m., at Grace Baptist Church, 353 River Rd., Hudson.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jacob’s memory to the charity of your choice.
