Region – Would you like to give your home a face-lift? Are your front stairs deteriorating? Are you thinking about new plants or a new walkway? How about adding a new patio or installing or upgrading an irrigation system?

It may be April, but Sue and Roger McCarthy of McCarthy’s Landscaping & Irrigation, Inc., of West Boylston are looking ahead to the summer season. Now is the time to be planning summer landscaping projects.

McCarthy’s Landscaping & Irrigation has been serving Worcester County since 1995. The family-owned business is now in its 24th year.

As a full service landscaping company, they also provide pergolas, pond installations, outdoor lighting and kitchens for summer entertaining. Plus, they offer hydroseeding with their own equipment.

Roger and Sue are focusing on the needs of their customers and plan to expand their sales team to keep up with the demands of their growing business.

“We pride ourselves on our customers. They are our main concern, making sure they are happy and that services are performed to their liking. Without them, we don’t have a business,” Roger said.

The McCarthys invite anyone planning a hardscape project (walls, patios, sidewalks, stairs, etc.) to visit their facility to see the variety of rich textures and tones in their selection of pavers and blocks that are on display.

“You can see how they feel, you can walk on them and look at them (wet or dry) and see the colors in the sun. It’s better than picking out of a catalogue,” Sue noted. “It’s what sets us apart from other landscapers.”

“I don’t want our customers to choose out of a catalogue,” Roger added. “I want them to see them in person.”

They can manage your project from design through construction. Just recently, they were awarded a 10-year plaque from Unilock (a major paver supplier) for being an authorized install contractor.

When asked what else was new, Sue said that it’s going to be a bad year for ticks and mosquitos, even worse than last year.

“We are offering an organic mosquito and tick application to your property again this year. It was very popular last year,” Sue replied.

Roger said that it was definitely an easier winter than the area had experienced in recent memory. As such, the McCarthys were able to get a jump on their spring cleanups.

All of their services are done “in-house” which enables them greater quality control and less wait time between phases of landscaping.

“Our employees are attuned to the customers’ needs and wants and are very respectful. We are also fully insured,” Roger noted.

Sue added that the employees receive training, including safety protocols, so that they all are on the same page.

The bottom line is that they are passionate about providing the best possible service to their customers.
