Westborough – The town of Westborough has announced that Fred Lonardo, Westborough’s building commissioner and zoning enforcement officer, has been honored as the recipient of its monthly Employee Excellence Award.
Lonardo, who has only held the position in a little over a year after stints in Lexington and Northborough, has already made an impact according to the selection committee. In a press release the committee praised him for quickly addressing the backlog of work that had accumulated due to retirements and resignations in his office before his arrival in Westborough.
The release also highlighted his “open communication and collaborative approach” with other departments as well as his sense of humor which “makes the office an absolutely fun environment for all and making coming to work a pleasure.”
