Marlborough – On the afternoon of May 18, 2019, Germaine C. Maddox passed peacefully at Sudbury Pines Extended Care. She was 98 years old. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Warren F Maddox.
She leaves behind her three sons, Peter F. Maddox and his wife Bonnie J Maddox of Marlborough, Robert A. Maddox of Marlborough, and Thomas B. Maddox of Marlborough. She is survived by her grandchildren, Jamie L. Hildreth of Lancaster, Jill A Hazelrigg of Lancaster, Michelle E. Maddox of Holliston, Thomas W. Maddox of Colorado, and Scott W. Mackay of Ayer. She is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Germaine was a lifelong resident of Marlborough, and resided in view of her beloved Lake Williams, a view she cherished for most of her 98 years. She grew up not far from the home she shared with her husband and where they raised their three sons.
She was a devout Catholic and belonged to St. Mary’s Church in Marlborough for many years. She loved bingo, bowling, crocheting and spending time with family. She was an avid cribbage player and enjoyed afternoons with her sons playing cards. She loved coffee ice cream and never turned it down when offered. She was a wonderful caring mother, grandmother and mother-in-law.
A private burial will take place with her immediate family. Slattery Funeral Home, Inc. is handling the arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to one’s favorite charity is suggested.
