Tiffany HallidayShrewsbury – Tiffany Kim Halliday, a resident of Shrewsbury for many years, died early Tuesday morning, June 18, 2019 at Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston, surrounded by her family. Tiffany was a patient of the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute where she was receiving treatment and living a hearty life with colorectal cancer.

She leaves behind her parents, Bruce and Kwi Hui Halliday of Shrewsbury; her brother and sister-in-law Ryan and Lora Halliday, along with her niece, Zoey, of Franklin; her aunt, Dr. Anna McGuire, and cousins Grant, Isabel and Alana of Dayton, Ohio; Uncle Chul McGuire and cousins Marissa and Nicholas of Corpus Christi, Texas; grandfather Terence McGuire of North Lewisburg, Ohio; Uncle Don and Aunt Eileen Halliday of New York; Uncle John and Aunt Linda Porter of Michigan; boyfriend Jimmy Robinson of Quebec, Canada, along with many other cousins and numerous other friends and family stateside and abroad. Tiffany was predeceased by her grandparents, Bill and Sue Halliday and Ann McGuire.

Tiffany was the first-born of Bruce and Kwi Hui Halliday, and entered this world in New York, later growing up in Groton, Conn., Centerville, Ohio to Tabernacle, N.J. and then ultimately, Shrewsbury.

From the moment she was born she was a self-motivated, self-aware, and a contentious student. She was an avid reader with an insatiable hunger for the word and knowledge.

Growing up, she played field hockey, earned a black belt in taekwondo, and was an accomplished pianist. Her academic prowess led her to attend boarding school at The Lawrenceville School in Lawrenceville, N.J. There, she shined and made lifelong friends. Tiffany went on to graduate from Boston University, earning a BS in English, following her passion for the spoken word. This included studies aboard for a semester in England, as well as roaming all over Europe, with the highlight being Scotland, where much of her Halliday ancestry lies.

Tiffany eventually circled back to Shrewsbury where she lived with her loving parents while undergoing cancer treatment, all the while working at Phillips in Framingham, where she created wonderful friendships and excelled at her position.

Tiffany was a brilliant, vivacious woman with a zest for life and the world around her. The day she became an aunt, Tiffany relished in all the Fairy God-Auntie privileges. Her niece Zoey quickly became her world, through which she enjoyed all childhood favorites again. She took great pride in being the bearer of these gifts. Leaving lasting memories with her and the other cousins, along with an irreplaceable hole in their hearts.

Her absolute next love were all her fur-babies. She adored and loved each and every one of them, from cats to dogs. She often stood strong for animal rights and against their abuse. One of the last posts she shared with family, the last day of her cognitive life, was the passing of legislature in New York banning declawing of her beloved cats.

Since her diagnosis, Tiffany became an astute student of oncology. She spoke of treatment and tests as if she, herself was the oncologist. She adored her team at Dana-Farber; of note in every conversation was her PA, Michael. She loved pushing them to provide more and do more than they believed they could. Her positive attitude was a blessing to those around her.

A celebration of Tiffany’s life will be held Saturday, July 6, from 1-4 p.m., at Jack’s Abbey and Springdale, 102 Clinton St., Framingham. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.

In lieu of flowers, it is asked that donations be made to local “No-Kill” shelters in Tiffany’s name, along with The Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (the family is currently working with DFCI to create and link for direct donations which will be provided on Tiffany’s Facebook Page).
