Jose EcheverriaMarlborough – Jose Linares Echeverria, 75, of Marlborough, died July 30, 2019 at Umass Memorial Medical Center. He was the husband of Emma Angelica (Armas) Linares.

He was born in Tiquisate, Guatemala and was the son of the late Bernardo Linares and Antonia Linares Echeverria. Jose moved to the United States in 1976 and had lived in Marlborough since 1990.

He was public transportation driver for 25 years and loved talking about his Mack truck and old memories from Guate.

Besides his wife, Emma, he leaves a son, Josue B. Linares of San Jose Pinula, Guatemala; five daughters, Miriam J. Minero, Emma P. Linares, and Brenda M. Linares of Los Angeles, Calif., and Claudia E. Cifuentes and Wendy E. Rodriguez of Marlborough; a brother, Carlos Linares of Guatemala; two sisters, Ana Lima of Guatemala and Elizabeth Wagner of San Diego, Calif.; other siblings deceased; 11 grandsons; eight granddaughters; seven great-grandsons and six great-granddaughters; and many nephews, nieces, and cousins.

Calling hours will be held Thursday, Aug. 8, from 6-7 p.m., in the Fitzgerald & Collins Funeral Home, 378 Lincoln St., Marlborough. A service will follow at 7 p.m. A graveside service will be held Friday, Aug. 9, at 11 a.m., in Evergreen Cemetery, Wilson Street, Marlborough.
