Timothy McGortyHoliday, Fla. – Timothy Matthew McGorty, of Holiday, Fla., died unexpectedly Aug. 3, 2019 at the age of 42.

Tim is survived by his parents, Jane McDonald and her husband Ray Jenkins of Berlin and Robert McGorty and his wife Donna of Skowhegan, Maine; his brother, Sean McGorty and his wife Dawn of North Attleboro; and his sister, Caitlin McGorty, and her mother Janet McGorty of Scarborough, Maine. He is also survived by his fiancée, Bernadette Pompei of Holiday, Fla. In addition to his parents, siblings, and fiancée, Tim leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins, and his two nephews, Max and Jack McGorty, who he looked forward to seeing every year at family vacation time and the holidays when he came home to visit.

Tim was born in Framingham and lived in Hudson, until moving to Florida. He graduated from Hudson High School in 1995 and Montserrat College of Art in Beverly, in 1999 with a degree in Fine Arts and Sculpture.

He worked at the VFW Post 1027 in Hudson as a long-time bartender and resident artist supporting many fundraising events with his art work and designs. He relocated to Florida and became an Elevator Construction and Modernization Specialist and eventually worked as a Florida State Elevator Inspector for several years until his death.

Tim was an avid outdoorsman, who thoroughly enjoyed fishing the lakes of New England and the saltwater of Florida.

Tim was loved by everyone who met him and will be missed by all.

Calling hours will be Friday, Aug. 9, from 5-8 p.m., at Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral, 50 Central St., Hudson. A funeral service will be held Saturday, Aug. 10, at 11 a.m., in the funeral home, followed by a procession to Forestvale Cemetery in Hudson for interment.

The family would like to thank everyone for the outpouring of support and love.
