Region  – In November the US Taekwondo Centers of Shrewsbury, Worcester, and Waltham hosted the 14th Annual U.S. Masters Open Taekwondo tournament at Grafton High School. The event drew nearly 300 competitors from all over New England, with athletes of all ages competing in the wide variety of events. During the opening ceremonies, Grandmaster Jae H. Jeong, Master Alex Jeong and Master Hee Yong Kim presented Paul Medeiros, president and CEO of Easterseals Massachusetts, with a check for $1,330 . These monies were raised by the Massachusetts State Taekwondo Association to help fund the Easterseals Massachusetts’ Accessible Martial Arts Program.

The program is for people with and without disabilities who want to learn and practice self-defense, stretching, exercise, and relaxation techniques. For more information visit www.easterseals.com/ma/our-programs/recreation/accessible-martial-arts.html.
