Linda J. BoothbyMarlborough – Linda J. Boothby, 69, of Marlborough, died Saturday, June 20, 2020 at UMass Medical Center in Worcester from complications after a lifelong battle with Rheumatoid Arthritis.

She was the daughter of the late Angelo Spirio and Rita (Boule) Clement and sister of the late David Spirio, who died in 2019, John Spirio, who died in 2011 and Gerard Spirio, who died in 2006.

A graduate of Marlborough High School, Linda moved to Florida in 1988 and was a successful insurance representative for E.S. Thomas and Associates of Tampa, FL.

Her true passion in work was her career of ten plus years at the Polk County Sheriff’s Office as a 911 Emergency Communications Specialist. Her dedication to assisting Law Enforcement and protecting the public shone through.

Linda retired in 2014 and returned home to Marlborough to be close to her family in 2017.

A loyal, loving sister and aunt, Linny was an avid trivia buff and word game player who enjoyed competing online, and usually winning, with her friends and family.

She is survived by her sister in law, Diane Spirio of Marlborough, her brothers, Robert “Bobby” Spirio of Marlborough, Roger Clement and his wife Valerie of Marshfield and Robert Clement and his wife Annette of Hudson, her sisters, Patricia Izbicki and her husband Chris of Hudson and Pamela Flanders and her husband Steve of Lakeland, FL and her best friends, Snookie Henriquez of Lakeland, FL and Donna Boule of Marlborough. Linda was also the ex-wife of the late Gene Boothby of Lakeland, FL and stepmother to Mark Boothby of MA and Mike Boothby of FL.

Linda will be remembered for her incredibly positive attitude and determination, facing all of life’s challenges head on and was the most optimistic person around.

A private funeral service will be held for Linny.
