Shrewsbury – Lillian M. (Enman) Abruzzise passed away peacefully on July 12, 2020, in the Christopher House, Worcester; she was 95 years old. Lillian was born in Worcester and raised in Westborough, one of four children to the late Edison Mark Thomas and Edith Lillian (Rich) Enman.
After her graduation from Westborough H.S. in 1943, Lillian worked several years as a social worker at Grafton State Hospital. She later was employed as a teletype operator at Colonial Press in Clinton, Heffernan Press and Achorn Graphics.
Lillian was a devoted Methodist and longtime member of Wellspring United Methodist Church and previously, the Fairlawn Methodist Church where she sang in the choir and served as treasurer. She enjoyed children and in her retirement worked in the Westborough Swim and Tennis Club’s children’s room. Lillian found relaxation in playing the piano and organ and in her spare time, enjoyed knitting and crocheting items for friends and family.
Surviving Lillian are her five children, Carla Jefferson, Gregory Reheuser, Pamela Wells, Debra Phillips and Jonathan Reheuser, 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her two sisters, Barbara Handlin and Shirley Anderson, a brother, Richard Enman and her long-time companion of 15 years with whom she made her home and watched the Red Sox with, Patrick Moquin.
Lillian’s family wish to thank Marceau and the rest of the staff at Christopher House for their care shown during Lillian’s stay there. A heartfelt appreciation of gratitude is given to Lillian’s aide, Sheila, for her friendship and compassion.
Services at this time are private, for the family. Arrangements are under the care of Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main Street, Northborough.
