Shrewsbury – Felix Gregory, a soon-to-be 7th grade student at Oak Middle School, along with his family, spent his time during the pandemic planting the gardens at Sherwood Middle School.

Felix, a recent graduate of Sherwood and a member of the Farm to School Crew there, decided to do some growing in an effort to help the community food pantry. His garden consists of everything from herbs to a variety of vegetables.

“He was so excited to jump right in and start at the beginning of April,” said Carol Tasker, Farm to School Crew leader.

Jonathan Kelly, Sherwood Middle School Principal, gave him the green light to go ahead. While water was unavailable at the school, Felix brought in the water and carefully nurtured the plants to become a bounty which he hopes to harvest soon.
