Shrewsbury students to host Open Mic Night to benefit social issuesShrewsbury – Several Shrewsbury High School students will be hosting an Open Mic Night on Saturday, Aug. 1 at 5 p.m. on the Shrewsbury Town Common to benefit the NAACP/Black Lives Matter and the World Health Organization’s COVID-19 relief efforts.

The event is free but contributions will be accepted. There will also be raffle tickets sold for $2 each for a chance to win gift cards and other items.

Guests are urged to bring their own chairs or blankets (none will be provided at the event.) Face coverings and social distance measures will also be mandated. The Town Common is located across from the Shrewsbury Public Library, 609 Main St.
