To the Editor:
The Marlborough St. Vincent de Paul Societies (of Immaculate Conception and St. Matthias) would like to thank the community for their support during our virtual Friends of the Poor Walk this year. The generosity of the local businesses and peoples exceeded our expectations and we surpassed our fundraising goal. We were able to raise more than $18,000 to support those in need in Marlborough. The Marlborough Friends of the Poor Walk was one of the most successful in the country. We would especially like to thank our wonderful business sponsors: at the Rent Sponsor Level: Sudbury Fence, Community of the Sisters of St. Anne, Durand & Anastas Environmental Strategies, MacDonald Hotel , Mirick O’Connell Attorney Arthur Bergeron, Murphy Insurance, St. Mary’s Credit Union, Short & Rowe Funeral Home; at the Grocery Sponsor Level: Collins Funeral Home, Post Road Auto & Tire Service, Post Road Mobile Home Park and Sales, Slattery Funeral Home; at the Utility Sponsor Level: Marilyn Green Real Estate, Mayor Arthur Vigeant, Shine Salon; and at the Prescription Co-Pay Sponsor Level: Drs. Moeckel and Wagner Dentistry.
Without the support of these local businesses and all our faithful walkers and donors the work of St. Vincent de Paul in Marlborough would be very difficult and we would not have the funds to support those in need.
Thank you, thank you!
With sincere gratitude,
Immaculate Conception St. Vincent de Paul Society
