Joan C. TurcotteMarlborough – Joan C. (Blakely) Turcotte, 83, of Marlborough passed away on Monday October 12, 2020 at The Christopher House in Worcester. She was the wife of Donald E. Turcotte who passed away in 2017.

She was born in Framingham, the daughter of Ernest C. and Clara B. (Christie) Blakely and was raised in Northborough. She was a 1954 graduate of Northborough High School.

Joan worked in the Assabet Valley Vocational Technical High School cafeteria for 22 years, eventually becoming the manager.

Joan enjoyed her family, gardening, cooking, crafts, reading and nature. She was often found in her beloved rock garden tending to her flowers, and making sure the small birds and animals had enough to eat.

She is survived by her two sons, Robert J. Turcotte of Lehi, Utah and Paul J. Turcotte of Marlborough; a daughter, Lisa E. Sanginario and her husband Mark of Boylston; 7 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Her youngest son Stephen W. Turcotte of Marlborough preceded her, passing away in 2018. Joan was the last of her siblings, having been predeceased by her brothers Ernest Jr., Norman, Raymond Blakely, and sisters Marion Dragon and Elaine Serewicz.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, October 18 from 5-7 PM at the Collins Funeral Home, 378 Lincoln Street, Marlborough. A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 19 at 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Howard Street Cemetery, Northborough.
