William C. MasciarelliHudson – William C. Masciarelli, 92, longtime Hudson resident, passed away peacefully Dec. 19, 2020 in his residence at Orchard Hill Assisted Living in Sudbury.

Will was born Aug. 15, 1928 in Clinton, a son of the late Camillo and Teresa (Cecchini) Masciarelli. He was a 1946 graduate of Clinton High School where he was a proud member of the 1945 Class C state championship football team.

Will, along with his good friend Joe Barreira, founded the B&M Tile Company and co-owned and operated Colonial Liquors in Westborough. Will then worked as manager of Acton Supply Hardware for 25 years. Following his retirement, Will continued working part-time at Stow Decorating Center.

Will was a lifelong athlete, from his days fast-pitching in the Clinton softball leagues, to skiing into his 70s, playing tennis into his 80’s, and weekly visits to the gym in his 90s. He, along with family members and close friends formed the Winter Street Supers softball team which evolved into a recurring Tuesday night card game that continued for 60 years. Will was an avid candlepin bowler and was a longtime member and president of the St. Michael Parish bowling league.

Will was treasurer of the Hudson Catholic Athletic Association and coach of multiple Hudson Little League and Babe Ruth baseball teams. He was an avid supporter of the Red Sox, Celtics, Patriots, and Notre Dame football.

He enjoyed traveling with his wife and friends, summer vacations on the Cape and Squam Lake, and ski trips up country with his sons. His most cherished moments were times spent at family gatherings.

He leaves his wife of 69 years, Barbara A. (Lenox) Masciarelli of Hudson; four sons, Bob Masciarelli and his wife Carole of Annapolis, Md., Paul Masciarelli and his wife Barbara of Hudson, Michael Masciarelli and his wife Betsy of Lunenburg, and Stephen Masciarelli and his wife Bridgit of Hudson; eight grandchildren, Christopher and his wife Lisa, Mallory, Gabby, Molly, Lucy, Lily, Gary, and Grace; two great-grandchildren, Noah and Charlotte; and several nieces and nephews. Will was predeceased by a son, David W. Masciarelli; his brother, Henry Masciarelli; and his two sisters, Ida Walther and Gloria Upham.

His funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, Dec. 23, at 9 a.m., at St. Michael Church, 21 Manning St., Hudson. Burial will follow at the parish cemetery on Cox Street in Hudson. There are no calling hours. The funeral Mass will be live streamed at www.stmikes.org/watch-mass-live.
