Hudson – On Wednesday, Feb. 3, the Assabet Valley Camera Club (AVCC) will host a virtual presentation by Maureen and Todd Mathieson exploring what judges look for when they evaluate photographic images. Camera buffs looking to improve the impact of their work can benefit from this program which focuses on honing technical skills as well as creating interesting compositions.

The Mathiesons, members of the Photographic Society of America, have been awarded the Master Member, New England Camera Club Council (MNEC) for their service to that organization as well as to local photography clubs. Both Todd and Maureen have served as president of the Assabet Valley Camera Club and as members continue to provide support for various club functions.

Due to COVID-19 all AVCC meetings are currently being held online. Normally, AVCC meetings take place in the Great Room at the Hudson Senior Center, 29 Church Street, Hudson, and officially begin at 7:30 PM. The first meeting of the month generally features a program designed to instruct and/or to entertain camera enthusiasts. During the second monthly meeting, member competitions of both print and digital images are judged and critiqued by qualified individuals. Assabet Valley Camera Club, a member of both the New England Camera Club Council and the Photographic Society of America, also participates in interclub competitions on regional, national and international levels. Contact [email protected] to request information needed to join the club’s next Zoom meeting.
