Marlborough – Jose M. Sabino Bermudez, 70 years old, of Marlborough, passed away Feb. 2, 2021, after ongoing struggles with his health.
Sabino was born in Santo Domingo, DR, the son of the late Ovidio and Clara Sabino Bermudez. He retired from the U.S. Army as Staff Sergeant after 31 years of faithful and honorable service.
Jose is survived by his wife of 31 years, Rosa M. Sabino, nine children, 28 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Sabino enjoyed telling stories about his years of service, spending time with family and dancing.
Sabino’s family shares this scripture in remembrance of him and his beliefs, “Protect me, O God, for I have taken refuge in you” Psalms 16:1.
Calling hours will be held Wednesday, Feb. 10, from 4 – 6 p.m., at Short & Rowe Funeral Home, 95 W. Main St., Marlborough. A private burial will be held at Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, with full military honors.
