Patrick J. JoyceNorthborough – Patrick Maurice Joyce, born in Cambridge and 50-year resident of Northborough, passed away peacefully while surrounded by family on Feb. 22, 2021.

Patrick was a loyal and devoted member of Pipefitters Local 537 for 52 years where he fostered numerous friendships and connections.

He enjoyed reading and spending time with his children and many grandchildren. He spent his later years traveling, and had purchased a winter home in Venice, Fla., near his sister, Dotty Frost, where he loved spending time on the beach.

It’s hard to sum up a man like Patrick in a few paragraphs. Patrick believed in family above all else; it’s difficult to put into words how devoted he was in this principle. He ensured that all who were in need were taken care of without hesitation.

He was predeceased by his wife of 45 years, Priscilla Anne Joyce; his brother, Maurice Joyce; his son, Joseph Joyce; and his first granddaughter; Jessica Sorensen, whom he adored. He is survived by his daughters, Donna Sorensen, Deborah Ramalho, Joan Bisson and her husband Steven Bisson, and his most beautiful and favorite daughter, Dorothy Joyce; his brother, William Joyce and his wife Marie; his sister, Dorothy Frost and her husband David Frost; his sister-in-law, Joan Irvine; seven grandchildren, including his most loved grandson, Eric Buttner, whom he cared for all of his life; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. The family would also like to thank Edith, his friend and caregiver of two years.

In lieu of flowers, please do as Patrick would do and spread kindness to a stranger or someone you love.

Calling hours will be held Saturday, Feb. 27, from 9-10:30 a.m., at Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main St., Northborough, followed by an 11 a.m. graveside funeral at Howard Street Cemetery in Northborough.
