MARLBOROUGH – A water main break knocked out service to major Marlborough entities like the New England Sports Center and the Residence Inn on Donald Lynch Boulevard on May 11.

Taking place shortly before 9am, the break specifically impacted a section of pipe near the 495 overpass in the area.

Marlborough, as a result, shut off water to all customers between 150 Donald Lynch Boulevard and the Hudson town line just over 1,000 feet down the road.

In Facebook posts, the city’s Department of Public Works and Mayor’s Office confirmed that this impacted the New England Sports Center, the Residence Inn and the Point at Marlborough apartment complex.

Shortly before 10:30am, the Mayors Office suggested water would be out for between eight and 10 hours.

Crews remained on scene with traffic diverted as of 4:45pm.

“Thank you for your patience,” read the Mayor’s Office Facebook post.
