Claire R. ShepardShrewsbury – Claire R.  (Brodeur) Shepard, 88, passed away on June 1, 2021 at Marlborough Hospital after a brief illness. Her husband of 54 years, Harry Harlow Shepard, died in 2013.

She leaves three daughters, Patricia Carolan of Holden, Sally Sullivan and her husband Kevin of Plymouth, and Nancy Sacco and her husband Louis of Southborough. She also leaves seven grandchildren, Thomas and Stephen Wight and his soon-to-be wife Sara, Jack and Anna Carolan, and Carolyn, Laura, and Julianne Sacco; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son-in-law, Michael Carolan; two brothers, Edward and Robert Brodeur; and her two sisters, Lorraine Luz and Priscille Latraverse.

She was born in Marlborough, daughter of Ovide and Odorina (Morin) Brodeur.

Claire graduated from Becker Jr College. She then worked as a secretary in various companies, including Victory Plastic in Hudson, Shrewsbury High School, and most recently at Glavin Regional Center from where she retired.

Claire loved baking and working in her flower gardens, and she thoroughly enjoyed sitting on her front porch visiting with family, friends and neighbors. She lived 61 years on Park Street surrounded by her loving and caring neighbors. For the last six months, she called the Branches of Marlborough her home and her family would like to thank the Memory Care Staff for their care and attention.

A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, June 5, at noon, at St. Mary’s Church, 640 Main St., Shrewsbury. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery of Shrewsbury. There are no calling hours.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 480 Pleasant St., Watertown, MA 02472.
