MARLBOROUGH – Before they crossed the stage at graduation June 5, the Marlborough High School Class of 2021 crossed a red carpet at a “Gala” held in their honor.
The event was held in lieu of a prom as organizers aimed to replicate some of the landmark social events this year’s high school seniors missed over the last year and a half due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
After the Gala, seniors enjoyed what was billed as an adaptation of their traditional all-nighter post-prom event. “Operation Graduation,” as it was called, ran until 10 p.m. and featured a more casual atmosphere for soon-to-be graduates.
