Dorothy A. HuntJan. 31, 1930 – Aug. 1, 2021

Northborough – Forever in our hearts, Dorothy Ann (Reidy) Hunt was a loving wife, mother, Nana, great-Nana, and friend to so many. She passed away peacefully on Aug. 1, 2021 at the youthful age of 91, surrounded by friends, family, and loved ones who will cherish her and will forever remember the nuggets of wisdom that she shared – “take a nap.”

Dorothy was predeceased by her devoted husband of 60 years, Martin A. Hunt, and three siblings, sister, Rosemary Hipp; brother, James Reidy; and brother, John (Jackie) Reidy.

Dorothy is survived by her six loving children, raised in Northborough, Kevin Hunt and wife Cindy of Virginia, Karen Dreher of California, Martin Hunt and wife Karen Morand-Hunt of Lancaster, Maureen St. Aubin and husband Steve of Taunton, Joanne Fornear and husband John of Pittsburgh, and Annmarie Farrell and husband Richard of Ashland; 17 grandkids; 18 great-grandkids; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The simple pleasures in life brought great joy to Dorothy. As family matriarch, she loved being surrounded by family and found joy in the energy of her children, grandchildren, and great grandkids. She had an innocent optimism that blessed her with the extraordinary ability to find happiness and peace in everything around her. Her outgoing, compassionate personality was contagious to all she knew and even strangers were recipients of the unconditional love that overflowed from her heart. Dorothy will be remembered in the rays of sunshine shining through the trees that she so lovingly watched from the front porch. We love you more!

A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, Aug. 5, at 10 a.m., at St. Rose of Lima Parish, 44 W. Main St., Northborough. The Mass will be immediately followed by a reception in the church hall. Dorothy will be laid to rest privately beside Martin in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be paid to Better Day Adult Social Day Program, 195 Reservoir St., Marlborough, MA 01752.
