UPDATE: This article has been updated to reflect that Waste Connections has headquarters in both the US and Canada. Form 10-K documentation in the company’s 2020 Annual Report does note that Canadian location as Waste Connections’ primary headquarters.

WESTBOROUGH – North American company Waste Connections has acquired Westborough-based E.L. Harvey & Sons Inc. according to a Waste Connections statement on Sept. 1.

Family owned for its entire 110 year history, Harvey’s has long been a prominent fixture in the Westborough community.

“The Harvey family has established one of the most respected companies in our industry, and we are honored to welcome Harvey to the Waste Connections family,” Waste Connections CEO Worthing F. Jackman said in that company statement. “Together with their continuing leadership team, we look forward to carrying on the Harvey name and further expanding its market position, as well as enhancing its strong culture of support for its employees, customers and communities.”

Harvey’s provides a variety of waste hauling, transfer and recycling services to customers across Central and Eastern Massachusetts. It also reaches some customers in Southern New Hampshire.

Waste Connections has headquarters in Texas and Ontario, Canada. It’s a publicly traded company with its Ontario location listed as its primary headquarters on documentation in its 2020 Annual Report.

It provides a variety of waste management services in the US and Canada, also branching out into oilfield waste management in the US and the freight rail industry in the Pacific Northwest according to its website. It pulled in more than $5 billion in revenue last year according to that Annual Report.

This is an ongoing story. It will be updated with any additional information that becomes available…
