WESTBOROUGH – Explorer Post 85 and the Westborough Fire Department are offering a new program to young men and women that have an interest in public safety and emergency services.
The program will offer an introduction to firefighting concepts through an academy-style training experience, in addition to community service activities throughout the year. Members will receive both classroom and hands-on training and will receive their First Aid and CPR certifications as part of the program.
“We are looking for motivated youth between the ages of 14 and 18 with an interest in exploring a firefighting career,” read a press release announcing the effort.
Meetings will occur on most Tuesday evenings during the school year, as well as on certain Saturdays for more in-depth training evolutions.
“If you have an interest in a public safety career and the ability to commit to an evening program, then this may be the program for you,” the press release continued.
Those interested can visit www.explorerpost85.com or the Westborough Fire Department Facebook page for more details.
