Eileen O. JoyceGrafton – Eileen O’Neill Joyce, 76, passed away peacefully in her home in North Grafton on December 22 after a brief illness. Her son, John J. Joyce III of Raleigh, North Carolina, and her daughter, Kristin Joyce of North Grafton were by her side.

Eileen was predeceased by her husband, John “Jack” Joyce, Jr. She was the loving daughter of the late Daniel and Anna O’Neill. Eileen grew up in Braintree, Massachusetts. Eileen was the loving sister of Nancy Kenny and her late husband Patrick of Quincy, Kathleen O’Neill of Quincy, and Annmarie O’Neill and her husband Bruce Nash of Weymouth. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Monica Hamill of East Windsor, New Jersey and was the loving aunt of many nieces and nephews.

Eileen was a graduate of Fontbonne Academy in Milton and Emmanuel College in Boston where she studied Sociology and Education. After graduation she taught elementary school and continued her education at Framingham State University where she received a Master’s degree.

Eileen particularly enjoyed spending time in her gardens. Her home in North Grafton was filled with beautiful and ever-changing gardens that brought joy to all those visiting. Eileen was a very generous and giving person. She was a devoted member of St. Mary’s Parish in North Grafton where she attended mass regularly and volunteered whenever she could.

Eileen was also an avid animal lover. She especially enjoyed her three dogs, Molly, Casey and Daisy, over the years. Eileen supported many charities and was always willing to help others. She also very much enjoyed a conversation with family, friends and often even strangers.

Family and friends are welcome to visit Roney Funeral Home in North Grafton at 9:00 before the funeral service which will be held on Tuesday, December 28, at 10:30 at St. Mary’s Church in North Grafton.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Eileen’s memory to an animal rescue organization of your choice.
