Bernadette M. FontecchioMarlborough – Bernadette Marie Fontecchio (Pilla), 70, of Marlborough, went to be with her Lord on March 16th, 2022, after a hard fought battle with cancer. Bernadette was born on March 31, 1951 in Brookline, MA. She was the daughter of Anthony and Anna Pilla.

She grew up in Waltham, moved to Framingham and finally resided in Marlborough, MA.

She leaves her husband of 50 years, John A. Fontecchio; her daughter, Lisa Orentlich and her husband, Michael Orentlich of Sarasota, FL and her son, Jeffrey Fontecchio and his wife, Leisha Fontecchio, of Northborough, MA; her seven grandchildren, Michaela DiNunzio and her husband, Luca DiNunzio, of Fort Myers, FL; Sarah, Jonathan and Joseph Orentlich and Jeffrey, John and Sophia Fontecchio.  She leaves her brothers, Anthony Pilla of Miramar, FL and Peter Pilla of Marlborough, MA.

Bernadette had a deep love for the Lord, her family and friends. She had a servant’s heart and was a blessing to many.  Throughout her life, Bernadette served in different women’s ministries. She was on the board of the Lexington Chapter of Women’s Aglow International for many years. She was also in the women’s ministries at both Wellesley Park Assembly of God in Wayland, MA and in the women’s prison at M.C.I. Framingham for 27 years. Bernadette had a home cleaning business, The Happy Housemaid & Co., with her close friend, Lorraine Hart, for over 33 years. She also worked at Traditions in Wayland and the Rivers School in Weston.

Family and Friends are invited to honor and remember Bernadette’s life with calling hours on Monday, March 21, 2022 from 9-11AM with the service immediately after 11AM at Chapel of the Cross, 160 Flanders, Road, Westborough, MA.  The burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, 133 Wilson Street, Marlborough, MA.

The family asks that in honor of Bernadette, please wear something red, which was her favorite color.
