SHREWSBURY – Shrewsbury town officials are reminding Precinct 2 voters that they have a new polling location for this year’s town elections.
Those voters will now cast their ballots at the Senior Center instead of at Town Hall.
The Senior Center is located next to Town Hall on the town campus at 100 Maple Avenue.
Precinct 2 is bound by Lake Quinsigamond, Main Street, Maple Avenue and Route 9.
Shrewsbury’s annual election will be May 3. Polls will open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m.
This year, the ballot will feature contested races for the Board of Selectmen and the School Committee.
Three people are running for two open seats on the Board of Selectmen after Selectman John Lebeaux announced that he would not seek re-election this year.
Those include incumbent John Samia as well as Michelle Conlin and Rajesh Uppalapati.
Four residents are running for two seats on the School Committee, including incumbent Lynsey Heffernan as well as Erin Boucher, Jennifer Luke and Sanam Zaer.
This change in voting location coincides with redistricting following the release of 2020 census data.
That process resulted in boundary changes for nine of Shrewsbury’s 10 precincts.
Voters can check their updated voting precinct and voting location by visiting the state’s “Where Do I Vote?” web service at https://www.sec.state.ma.us/wheredoivotema/bal/myelectioninfo.aspx.
