HUDSON – Hudson High School (HHS) drama students are in the final steps of their dress rehearsal process for their performance of the musical “Chicago.”
Set to take place this weekend, shows will run on Friday at 7 p.m, on Saturday at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. and on Sunday at 2 p.m.
All four shows will take place in the Paul “Skip” Johnson Auditorium at the high school.
Chicago takes a satirical look at the 1920’s “celebrity criminal” phenomenon, drawing on jazz age themes to create what has become a beloved musical classic.
Hudson’s rendition of the show will, in turn, mark a milestone for the HHS Drama Society, which has not held an in-person spring musical performance since 2019, before the COVID-19 pandemic began.
“Students are thrilled to return to the annual Spring Musical tradition, and invite the community to feel the energy of live theater’s return to the stage,” the Drama Society noted in a press release last week.
Tickets are $13 for adults and $11 for students or seniors, and are available in advance at: https://www.onthestage.
The show run time is 2 hours with a 15 minute intermission.
