SHREWSBURY – A tractor trailer driver suffered non-life threatening injuries after the trailer rolled over.
At 7:45 a.m. Nov. 18, the Shrewsbury Fire Department responded to a tractor trailer rollover on I-290 near the Route 140 ramp.
At the time, the fire department urged drivers to avoid the area.
In a post on Facebook several hours later, the department said the driver was pinned in the vehicle.
“The truck’s fuel tanks were ruptured, and the diesel fuel flowed dangerously close to the passenger compartment,” the department wrote.
The fire department deployed their hose lines as a precaution and was able to remove the driver from the vehicle and area within minutes.
The driver was transported by Worcester EMS to a hospital for the treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
“We thank our mutual aid partners in Northborough and Westborough for responding to assist us with this complex incident,” the Shrewsbury firefighters wrote.
