MARLBOROUGH – It’s been a busy holiday season at the Marlborough Community Cupboard, a program of the United Way of Tri-County.

According to Director Barbara LaGrenade, the cupboard has been serving 700 families a month.

“The need is very high right now,” she said.

To help meet the demand, the cupboard has benefited from some generous donations, including $1,500 from the Marlborough Foundation. That gift will go toward the United Way’s Feed a Family campaign.

The cupboard also received 100 holiday gift kits from Kits for Kids for less fortunate teens.

LaGrenade said the current need is for financial donations so that the cupboard can purchase more food.

“Every $1 donated means $4 to purchase food wholesale,” she said.

Donations may be made online via www.uwotc.org (find the link to Marlborough Community Cupboard on the home page). Checks, made out to “Marlborough Community Cupboard,” may also be sent to MCC, 255 Main St., Room 113, Marlborough, MA 01752.

For information, visit the website or call the cupboard at 508-370-4902.
