WESTBOROUGH – Fuel was spilled in a crash today involving an oil truck.
Members of the Westborough Fire and Police departments responded to a crash involving a rolled over oil truck on Eli Whitney Street at about 11 a.m.
According to a post by the fire department, the driver was entrapped and hazardous materials spilled.
The fire department freed the person, who was subsequently evaluated by paramedics. The driver sustained minor injuries and declined transportation to a hospital, according to the fire department.
Firefighters contained the fuel spill.
As of about 1 p.m., Eli Whitney Street was still closed with law enforcement encouraging drivers to seek alternative routes.
