Clare C. TrischukNorthborough – Clare C. Trischuk, 80, of Northborough, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2023. Clare was born and raised in Montreal, Quebec, one of two daughters to Glen and Helen (Cottee) Gilbert. After attending the Netherwood School in New Brunswick Clare studied at Carleton University in Ottawa. It was here she met her future husband, Ronald W. Trischuk. Clare continued her studies at Brock University and was awarded her B.A. in English Literature in 1986.

The couple lived in Niagara Falls, Ontario for many years prior to relocating to Northborough in the early 1990’s. Clare was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She and Ron enjoyed 56 years of love, separated only by Ron’s own passing in 2021. Always one to stay active, Clare enjoyed tennis, skiing, reading a good novel, golfing with Ron, and walking her dog, Misty. Clare had a lifelong passion for the Arts: enjoying dance, galleries, and plays which she shared with her friends and family during frequent trips to the theatre. She was a longtime member of the First Parish Northboro Unitarian Congregation where she was active in the pastoral care committee, the knitting club, and cake’s women’s group. Clare will be remembered for her wonderfully dry sense of humor and her ability to make friends wherever she went.

Surviving Clare are her two children, Stephen Trischuk and his wife Rebecca of Clinton, and Christine Romeo and her husband Jeff of Boxborough; two grandsons, Owen and Drew Romeo and her nieces and nephews. Clare’s sister, Heather Elise Allen, proceeded her in death.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 17th at First Parish Northboro Unitarian Universalist Church, 40 Church St, Northborough, followed by a collation in the parish hall.

Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main St, Northborough is honored to assist the Trischuk family at this time. To leave a condolence online, please visit www.HaysFuneralHome.com.
