Michael S. TheriaultHudson – Michael Shawn Theriault of Hudson, MA, passed away on June 14th, 2023 after a period of declining health. He was 64 years old.

Michael was born in Boston, MA, on May 2, 1959 to parents Margaret (“Peg”) and the late Joseph Theriault.

Michael is survived by his mother, Peg Theriault of Blackstone, MA; his two daughters, Kendra Demers and her husband Benjamin of Weare, NH, and Chelsea Rodgers and her husband Chad of Epping, NH; his three siblings, Janine McCabe of Sutton, MA, Steve Theriault and his partner Lori Iannazzi Marcotte of North Scituate, RI, and Denise Gareau and her husband Marc of Blackstone, MA. He also leaves behind his three beautiful grandchildren, Vera, Hayden and Wade, who were his pride and joy.

Michael is predeceased by his father Joseph, and his sister Sharon Lavoie.

Michael grew up in a large, close-knit family. He spent many summers with his four siblings, aunts, uncles and cousins in Rumford, Maine. In high school, he earned the nickname “Tiger” for being both smart and athletic, and was well known in his hometown of Bellingham, MA. Michael earned his bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, and he took pride in his successful career as a software engineer. Although a Massachusetts native, Michael moved to New Hampshire in 1988 and raised his daughters there. After years of serving his NH community, he was affectionately known to many as “Coach T”.

A talented percussionist, Michael’s favorite instruments to play were his congas and bongos. He spent many nights jamming out to his favorite artist, Carlos Santana.

Michael is remembered as a loving and selfless son, brother, father, and Pops. He never hesitated to tell his family how much he loved them. Michael brought laughter and warmth to every gathering and conversation. His signature sense of humor was a mix of wise cracks and ‘dad’ jokes; he always laughed at his own jokes.

In addition to his family, Michael will be dearly missed by his friends, colleagues and neighbors.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Michael’s honor at a later date, and planned by his family.
