WESTBOROUGH – Cozy is the word for the newest bookstore in town.

For the next few months, Hygge House Books will call home a former medical office at the Downtown Crossing shopping plaza on East Main Street.

The pop-up shop is part of an initiative by the Westborough Economic Development Committee.

Founder and owner Beth Orsini has converted exam rooms into nooks of comfort. She said she not only recycles books, but the furniture as well, thanks to family and free furniture exchange programs.

“Previously loved” books may be purchased for a fraction of the retail price.

Hygge House Books also has the summer reading books for Westborough Public Schools in stock.

In addition to books, the shop offers candles, candy from the Boro Sugar Shack, book bags and other accessories for sale.

The shop opened this week, with a formal opening set for Saturday, June 24, from 2 to 6 p.m.

Current hours at the shop are Mondays from 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.; closed Tuesdays; Wednesdays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Fridays from noon to 7 p.m.; Saturdays from 1 to 6 p.m.; and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
