Edward R. Rossi Jr.The Villages, FL – Edward R. “Ed” Rossi, Jr., 81, of The Villages, FL, formerly of Shrewsbury, passed away peacefully at The Villages Regional Hospital on Wednesday, July 5, 2023, with his loving wife Helen by his side.

Born in Shrewsbury, Ed was the son of the late Edward R. Rossi, Sr. and Rose (Abruzzise) Rossi. A lifelong learner, he graduated from Shrewsbury High School and also continuously took college courses to expand his knowledge. He enjoyed reading and staying informed on current events.

Ed retired from the Worcester Regional Transit Authority and always enjoyed meeting and helping his passengers. He also worked at Foreign Motors in West Framingham, MA, as a mechanic, which was his lifelong passion.

Ed was a Life member of the Massachusetts Elks  Association and the Auburn Elks Lodge for 54 years. He proudly served as Exalted Ruler and District Deputy. His biggest hobby was coin collecting, and he was an active member of various clubs in Massachusetts and Florida. He was an avid card player and enjoyed playing at various senior centers in both Massachusetts and Florida. Ed also enjoyed the beach and loved to travel to the island of Aruba, which was his home away from home.

In addition to his wife Helen C. (Carlson) Rossi, Ed is survived by his daughter, Heather Rossi and her partner Kevin Mahan of Worcester, MA; his son Jonathan Davis and his wife Patricia of Pomfret, CT; his grandchildren Joshua Donisvitch and his wife Maylanie of Pensacola, FL, Hillary Donisvitch of Spencer, MA, and Amy Bolack of Dudley, MA; and his brother Paul Rossi and his wife Elisabeth Ann of Shrewsbury, M A. He also leaves a large extended family of nieces, nephews, sisters-in- law and brothers-in-law. In addition to his parents, Ed is predeceased by his brothers Robert Rossi, Richard Rossi, David Rossi, and Francis Rossi.

Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visiting hours at the Chiampa Funeral Home, 5 Church Road, On the Common, Shrewsbury on Monday, July 17, 2023, from 3:00 – 6:00 P.M. and on Tuesday 10:00 – 11:00 AM. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM. Interment will be held at Mountain View Cemetery.
