Marlborough death under investigation following altercation

MARLBOROUGH – Police are investigating a death after they responded to a report of an altercation at a Marlborough home.

Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Marlborough Police Chief David Giorgi confirmed the investigation in a press release Aug. 3.

According to the release, at 10:32 p.m. Aug. 2, Marlborough police were dispatched to an altercation inside a residence on Saint Ives Way. Police found a 45-year-old man inside the residence. He was transferred Marlborough Hospital and was later pronounced dead.

Police said there was another person inside the home who suffered injuries and was also transported to the hospital.

“This is an open and ongoing investigation being conducted by the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office, Massachusetts State Police assigned to the District Attorney’s Office and Marlborough Police,” the release said.

The release did not identify the name of the man.
