Hudson – Valerie Bazarian Maher, 66, of Hudson, MA, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, August 12, 2023, at her residence.
Valerie was born in Boston, MA, daughter of the late Aram Bazarian Sr. and Elizabeth Balgochian. She was raised in Waltham, MA attending local schools and was a 1974 graduate of Waltham High School. In 2003 she established VeeBop’s Ice Cream & More, a popular mobile ice cream vending company which she was still operating just weeks prior to her passing. She was active in the Hudson community as a member of the Hudson Chamber of Commerce, member of the United Methodist Parish Church in Hudson and an advocate for the Hudson Boys and Girls Club.
Valerie is survived by her son Jason E. Maher and his wife Lindsay of Norwell, MA; her daughter Krista Moura and her husband Michael of Webster, MA; her 5 grandchildren, Amaya and Enzo Moura and Aquinna, Alexandra and Grady Maher. She also leaves her 2 brothers, Bruce Bazarian and his wife Barbara of Marlborough, MA, Aram Bazarian Jr. and his wife Suzanne of Austin, TX; her niece Jordan Bazarian; her nephews Alex, Benjamin and Zachary Bazarian along with many other relatives and close friends.
Besides Valerie’s involvement in her Hudson community, she cherished the 20 plus years owning and operating her company “VeeBop’s Ice Cream & More. She attended so many special events in her community and surrounding areas including weddings, birthday parties, sporting events, parades, fairs and so much more. She absolutely relished the times she spent with her family, especially later with all her grandchildren. With a larger than life personality, she brought smiles to many faces throughout the years and will always be remembered by those who loved and knew her.
Relatives and friends are invited to a period of visitation from 10:00 to 11:45 am on Friday, August 18, 2023, at Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home, 50 Central St., Hudson, MA. A service and celebration of Valerie’s life will follow at 12:00 pm on Friday, August 18, 2023, in the United Methodist Church, 34 Felton St., Hudson, MA. Final Committal Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
