“Recycle Your Junk” Fundraiser

The Marlborough Rotary Club welcomes all communities to take part in a “Recycle Your Junk” fundraiser on Saturday, Sept. 30, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Come to Navin Rink, 451 Bolton St., to dispose of the following junk: electronics; electrical equipment; metals; large appliances; yard and lawn equipment.

Cost is $40 per carload or pickup truck load, plus additional costs for the following items:
TVs (any size), $40 each; computer monitors (any type), $25 each; computer or audio speakers, $20/pair; child car seats, $20 each; household vacuums, $20 each; treadmills, $25 each; appliances with freon, $25 large, $15 small; lithium ion batteries (power tools), $5 each; lead acid batteries (yard equipment, cars, boats, RVs), $10 each; small batteries (AA, AAA, C, D), $5/quart.

The following items will not be accepted: wood, bulk paper, mattresses, light bulbs, Styrofoam, plastic, tires, textiles, fabrics, upholstered furniture, carpets, pool liners, books, ceramics, porcelains, brick, stone, hoses, glass, glass table tops, board games and large plastic children’s toys.

Proceeds will benefit the Marlborough Rotary and the Marlborough Regional Chamber of Commerce. Information: www.marlboroughrotary.org.

Arts in Common

The 13th annual Arts in Common will take place on Saturday, Sept. 30, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Bay State Commons on East Main Street. This free event will feature live music, juried artists, craft beer, food trucks, art activities, dance and performances.

Block Party for K9 Program

The Marlborough Police Patrol and Command Staff unions will host a Benefit Block Party for the K9 program on Saturday, Sept. 30, from 1 to 8 p.m. behind City Hall on Weed Street.

Three bands will perform – Larry Bee and the Buzz; Angry Tony and the Homewreckers; and Late Bus. There will also be food, drinks, and a “meet and greet” with the department’s K9s.

Admission is a $10 donation at the door; $100 per table.

Flag Burning Ceremony

On Saturday, Sept. 30, the Westborough Veterans Advisory Board, along with the Fire and Police departments and the Department of Public Works, will host a flag burning ceremony at 1 p.m. at Freedom Park on West Main Street. Special guests will be the National Lancers, one of the nation’s oldest cavalry organizations. The event will include a presentation on the proper way to care and dispose of old flags.

All are welcome to attend and to bring their old and worn flags.

“Get Charged” Regional EV Expo

Have you thought about driving an electric vehicle?

The Get Charged Regional EV Expo will be held Sunday, Oct. 1, from 2 to 5 p.m. at Amazon Robotics, 50 Otis St. The expo will feature a variety of vehicles along with e-Bikes and vehicles from the Westborough and Hopkinton Police Departments.

Rain date is Sunday, Oct. 8.

Sponsors include the Rotary Club of Westborough, Sustainable Westborough, Sustainable Northborough and the Hopkinton Sustainable Green Committee.
