MARLBOROUGH – The Marlborough Regional Chamber of Commerce’s Government Affairs Committee will sponsor the second round of debates in the race for mayor on Wednesday, Nov. 1, from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
The debate will take place at the School Committee Room, 17 Washington St.
The candidates – Samantha Perlman and J. Christian Dumais – will arrive at 5:30 p.m.; the debate will begin at 6 p.m.
This debate will focus on the mayoral candidates as a follow up to the previous debate and what they see for the future of the city.
There will be opening statements of two minutes per candidate.
Each candidate will receive up to three questions from the panel in a round.
Candidates will have one minute to respond to the question, and there will be a 30-second rebuttal. This is at the moderator’s discretion.
This will be the first 15-30 minutes in the debate.
The second half of the debate will be each candidate asking questions of the other candidate.
The asked candidate will have a 90-second response, and the asking candidate can have a one-minute rebuttal. The asked candidate will be able to rebut with 30 seconds, at the moderator’s discretion.
Each candidate will have a two-minute wrap up at the end.
The room capacity is about 50 people. Candidates are asked to bring up to 10 people, as space will be limited.
WMCT-TV will be broadcasting the debates live. The station will have them available on its on-demand platform.
