Claire C. DunnSudbury – Claire C. (Lanoue) Dunn, passed away peacefully on December 14, 2023, at Sudbury Pines Extended Care in Sudbury, MA. She was 94 years old.

Born on September 15, 1929, in Marlborough, MA, Claire was the beloved daughter of Charles and Exilda (Pontbriand) Lanoue. She attended Hudson High School and graduated with the Class of 1947. Claire went on to pursue higher education at the Pinellas School of Nursing in Clearwater, Florida, where she earned her nursing license.

After completing her studies, Claire embarked on a fulfilling career as a Licensed Practical Nurse where she was employed at Marlboro Hospital. She dedicated many years selflessly caring for others until her retirement in 2006. Even in retirement, Claire couldn’t resist staying busy so she began work at Macy’s, and worked up until finally retiring at age of 89.

Family was always at the forefront of Claire’s life. Devoted to her loved ones, she treasured every moment spent with them. Summers spent in Ocean Park, Maine held a special place in Claire’s heart as she cherished those times surrounded by her loving family. Furthermore, wherever there was a beach to be found, Claire could be found vacationing with her loved ones.

In her leisure time, Claire had a variety of interests that brought her much happiness. She loved to travel, play cribbage (where she would love to accuse others of always cheating), puzzle books, reading, and spent much of her time giving lots of love towards her many cats throughout her life, which also happened to be one of her favorite musicals.

Claire touched the lives of many throughout her journey and leaves behind an enduring legacy of love and compassion. She is survived by her daughter, Cindy Lyons, and her husband Jim of Hudson, MA; her grandchildren Heather Burns, Tara Russo, Brandon Lyons; and Casie Gast; her great-grandchildren Katheryn Smith, Jake Burns, Cameron Burns, Alex Russo, Hayden Gast, and McKinley Gast, Sloane Lyons; her great-great-grandchildren Liliana Smith and Maverick Smith; as well as other family and friends. Claire is predeceased by her husband, Carmen “Bob” Dunn and her daughter Donna Cincotta, father Charles Lanoue, and her mother, Exilda (Pontibrand) Lanoue; her brother Norman Lanoue; and her sisters Exilda Lanoue, and Vivian MacDonald.

Graveside services for Claire will be held privately.

Claire C. Dunn will forever remain in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known her. May she rest in eternal  heavenly peace.
