Hudson – Marilyn M. (Magnant) Morin passed away peacefully on December 23, 2023, after a 3-year, courageous battle with ovarian cancer, and a brief decline in health. Her husband of 54 years, Richard E. Morin, predeceased her on January 17, 2017. She was a resident of Hudson, MA for 58 years.

Marilyn was born on October 20, 1943, in Chelsea, MA, to Joseph and Mabel (Gass) Magnant. She met her husband on a blind date, and it was love at first sight. They married and set down roots in Hudson, MA. After raising their children, Marilyn and Richard traveled the world, always seeking out new adventures, and celebrating their love for each other. In October 2023, Marilyn celebrated her 80th birthday at a party surrounded by family and friends. It was a party, although ill, that she was not going to miss!

Marilyn leaves behind her four children, her son Richard F. Morin and wife Maria of Wilmington, MA, daughter Valerie A. Morin and her companion Duncan H. Gilles of Paxton, MA, her son Steven J. Morin of Arvada, CO, and her daughter Denise Morin of Cheshire, MA. She also leaves behind five grandchildren: Meghan of Charlotte, NC, Christopher of Arlington, VA, Alyssa of Wilmington, MA, and Maribella and Evelyn of Cheshire, MA; as well as numerous nieces, great-nieces and nephews; as well as her two dearest friends Barbara Mula and Beverly Valcourt of Hudson, MA. She is predeceased by her husband Richard, her sister Patricia Hallenbeck, and her brother Robert Magnant.

Marilyn will be remembered fondly as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother (Gramma). She cherished her gardens, and every Spring, she had the debate with her husband, “Too many tulips, and never enough tulips”. There is no doubt that she will be planting bulbs in heaven.

Marilyn was a member of Saint Michael Parish in Hudson, MA. She was proud to be a member of the Saint Vincent DePaul Society, and Friends of the Hudson Public Library. Her passion was helping others, and making sure children had access to books.

Calling hours for Marilyn will be held on Friday December 29, 2023, from 4pm-7pm, at Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home, 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30am on Saturday December 30, 2023, at Saint Michael Parish, 23 Manning Street, Hudson, MA; followed by a procession to Forestvale Cemetery in Hudson, MA, for Committal Services.
