Marlborough – Margaret T. (Hines) Devoe, 93, of Marlborough died Tuesday January 2, 2023 at UMASS Memorial Medical Center after suffering cardiac arrest. She was the wife of the late Harold J. Devoe who died in 2005.
She was born in Newton, raised in Waltham and was the daughter of the late George A. and Margaret A. (Doucette) Hines. Peg was a graduate of St. Charles High School in Waltham Class of 1948.
She co-owned a Pepperidge Farm Bread franchise with her husband for 10 years. She enjoyed catering, baking and cooking. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church.
Peg enjoyed collecting snow babies, antiques and she loved shopping, dancing in her younger years. She enjoyed her summers at Cape Cod. She had many groups of friends from the Moose, all the senior centers, Cape Cod, and her McDonalds group. She was very active and independent even driving herself until recently.
She leaves her son Ronald E. Devoe and his wife Lee Ann of Marlborough; a grandson Christopher M. Devoe and his wife Jill of Marlborough; a great grandson Chris Devoe of Marlborough; many nephews, nieces and cousins. She was predeceased by her siblings, George, Bob, Arthur and Sr. Cecilia Agnes Hines, SC.
A time of visitation will be held Wednesday January 10 from 9:00-10:00 am in the Collins Funeral Home, 378 Lincoln Street, Marlborough. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow visitation on Wednesday at 10:30 am in Immaculate Conception Church, Prospect Street. Private burial will be held in Evergreen Cemetery at a later date.
