Hudson – Nancy R. Fagan (née Parent) of Hudson, Massachusetts passed away after a short illness surrounded by loving family at Rose Monahan Hospice on January 21st 2024 at the age of 96.

Nancy was a devout Catholic who, through her beliefs, spent her life caring for her family and others. Among her many talents, she was an accomplished musician and crafts person. Every rug in her house was hand-braided, and every family member’s couch is adorned with a Nancy original afghan. Nancy spent her life as a nurse, and at the time of retirement had risen to Director of Nursing as Metropolitan State Hospital. In her retirement she also worked for the town clerk in Hudson, MA.

The beloved matriarch of the Fagan family, at 96 years old and a devout Catholic eagerly waiting to be reunited in eternity with her loved ones, it’s not exactly a tragedy to lose her. Instead, we celebrate the woman she was. Dedicated not only to her family, but her community at large, she was part of the Catholic Daughters, Daughters of the American Revolution, and trustee of the Hudson Public Library. She was guided by her faith and commitment to life to host pregnant women in her home as part of a community outreach program.

She is survived by her daughters Millie Burris of American Fork, UT, Esther Daigneault of Hudson, MA, Dorothy Jarvis of Leominster, MA, Suzanne Fagan of Grand Junction, CO, Yvonne “Bun” Fagan of Charleston, SC, and her daughter-in-law, Vicki Fagan of Ashburnham, MA, and her sister Virginia Patterson of FL. She is also survived by a total of 16 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Leslie D. Fagan, sons James L. Fagan and Michael G. Fagan of Hudson, MA, and siblings Blanche, Frances, and Louise.

She will be remembered always for her devotion to her children, family, church, and God. She was an inspiration to many.
