Margaret M. LynchShrewsbury – Margaret Mary “Peggy” (O’Brien) Lynch, 91, of Shrewsbury, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 25, 2024 at the Christopher House of Worcester

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 54 years, William J. Lynch, and their cherished daughter, Maureen A. Rosiello, in 2010. Peggy leaves her devoted daughter, Christine M. Carney and her husband Peter J. Carney, Sr., of Shrewsbury; her adoring grandchildren, Peter J. Carney, Jr. and his wife Caitlin, Timothy W. Carney and his wife Katherine, Kayla A. Rosiello, and Michael A. Rosiello; great-grandchildren, Owen, Molly, Nolan, Cade, and Nash; and a sister, Kathleen D. Kirby, of Sun City Center, FL. She was also predeceased by her brother, John F. O’Brien, and sister, Eileen Luukko.

Peggy was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Thomas F. and Anna M. (McCarthy) O’Brien, both of whom emigrated from Ireland. She graduated from the former Sacred Heart Academy in Worcester, and, in her career, worked as a Secretary at Assumption College for 10 years before retiring.

Peg enjoyed reading, cooking, and walking in her free time; she was known for being a social butterfly who had many close friends, and would go out of her way to make new ones.

She was a faithful parishioner of St. Anne’s Church in Shrewsbury for many years.

Her family would like to thank the wonderful staff of the Christopher House of Worcester for their loving care for Peggy throughout this time.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the Lynch family from 10 – 11 AM on Tuesday, January 30, 2024 at the BRITTON-SHREWSBURY FUNERAL HOME, 648 Main St., Shrewsbury, with a prayer service to follow at 11 AM. She will be buried alongside her husband and daughter in Mountain View Cemetery, Shrewsbury.
