Hudson – George J. Ferrara, lifelong resident of Hudson, MA, 82 years old, died on Friday, February 23, 2024. He was predeceased by his wife of 43 years Annmarie (Taylor) Ferrara in 2011.

George is survived by his 4 daughters, Tonia Bouvier and her fiancé Jack Risotti of Hudson, MA, Tara Williamson and her husband Steven of Middleboro, MA, Tatum Ferrara and her partner Kevin Figueiredo of Hudson, MA and Tressa Ferrara of Hudson, MA. He also leaves his 9 grandchildren, Caroline and Jillian Bouvier both of Hudson, MA, Erica, Dominic and Nora Williamson, all of Middleboro, MA, Kevin Figueiredo Jr. of Hudson, MA, Justin, Shawn and Jacob Travis, all of New Hampshire along with his 2 great grandchildren Stella Reilly and Rylynn Travis. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Janice Taylor of Hudson, MA and many other relatives and close friends. He was predeceased by his sister Barbara (Ferrara) Bastow.

George was born and raised in Hudson, MA, son of the late Joseph and Helen (Laurion) Ferrara. He attended local schools and was a 1960 graduate of Hudson High School.

George enlisted in the U.S. Navy and was a Vietnam War Veteran. He began a long career as an HVAC Technician following his honorable discharge from the Navy. He was a member of the Pipe Fitters Union.

He later attended Fitchburg State University attaining his Teacher’s Certificate and took the position of HVAC Instructor at Blackstone Valley Technical High School in Upton, MA until his retirement in 2007. He was a member of Saint Michael Parish in Hudson, Hudson Elks, Hudson V.F.W., Hudson Amvets, Hudson Legion and Marlboro Moose.

George loved to travel and both he and wife Annmarie visited many regions in the U.S. which included trips to Hawaii and Alaska. When their children were younger the family enjoyed many camping trips together. In his spare time George enjoyed golfing with friends at several local courses. A loving and devoted husband and father who cherished spending time with his family, especially later with his grandchildren is the legacy he leaves behind. He will truly be missed but never forgotten.

Relatives and friends are invited to a period of visitation from 10:00AM to 12:00PM on Saturday, March 2, 2024 followed by a Celebration of George’s life at 12:00PM at Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home, 50 Central St., Hudson, MA. A procession will follow to Saint Michael Cemetery in Hudson for Committal Services with Military Honors.
