Hudson – Joan M. Harding 87, passed away peacefully on March 8th 2024, surrounded by her family at Beaumont Rehabilitation & Skilled Nursing Center in Westborough, MA. Joan was a resident of Hudson, MA for 61 years.

Joan fought a long battle medically, overcoming breast cancer and four bouts of Covid 19. She battled dementia but it could not steal her fighting spirit.

Joan was born on June 20, 1936 in Newton, MA to the late Joseph and Annie Wright. She graduated from Newton High School and worked as an Administrative Assistant to some of the top Telecommunications executives in New England over the span of her career.

Joan was gifted at crocheting and made amazing heirloom table cloths and blankets for her family. She loved the Boston Red Sox and always knew the score of last night’s game. She made a point to attend all of her three sons’ sporting events and was very vocal in the stands with shouts of support and encouragement. Joad did a lot of volunteer work for the Why Me foundation having lost many family members to cancer. Most importantly, Joan was a neighborhood mom. She watched over all the kids in the neighborhood and loved them all as her own. Spending time with family was her greatest joy.

Scott’s grandchildren Kylee and Halle Weagle of Hudson, MA, Quinten Viegas of Hudson, MA., Paige, Shirley, and Warren Harding of Smithfield, RI., Brooklyn Whitelow of Joplin, MO

Glenn Harding and Dr. Maria Narducci of Shrewsbury, MA. Glenn’s children Kelly and Nicole Harding of Shrewsbury, MA.

Joan is predeceased by her ex-husband Warren Harding of West Townsend, MA.

She is predeceased by her siblings:

Barbara Heckman of Marlborough, MA

Dorothy Holmes of Wellesley, MA

Lillian Asciukiewicz of Wellesley, MA

Joseph Wright of Newton, MA

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the charitable foundation of your choosing.

Services will be held at Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home 50 Central Street Hudson, MA on March 18 from 12:00 to 2:00
