Welcome to Patriots Day/Marathon Weekend. In case you’re not lacing your shoes up for the big race on Monday, here are some local events:

Rummage Sale

Saturday, April 13, 9 a.m. to noon, First Church in Marlborough, 37 High St., Marlborough. $5 bag sale all morning – fill a paper bag provided by the Women’s Fellowship and pay $5 for the contents.

Friends of the Library Book Sale

Saturday, April 13, 9 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., and Sunday, April 14, 1 to 4:45 p.m., Westborough Public Library, 55 West Main St., Westborough. Hardcover books are $2, paperbacks and media are $1, and all children’s items are 50 cents.

All proceeds benefit the Westborough Public Library.

Music of the Beatles

Saturday, April 13, 2 p.m., Shrewsbury Public Library, 609 Main St., Shrewsbury. Come for a one-hour concert with Melodious Zach, who will perform Beatles songs written jointly by John Lennon and Paul McCartney and entertain you with Beatles trivia. This program has applied for support from the Shrewsbury Cultural Council, a local agency supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency.

Skip vonKuske Concert

Saturday, April 13, 7 to 8:30 p.m., First Parish Northboro Unitarian Universalist, 40 Church St., Northborough. Master cellist Skip vonKuske is an architect of layers, using live recording and playback to build stories of sound with mandolin, guitar, and cello.

‘Sing into Spring’

Assabet Valley Chambersingers will perform “Sing Into Spring,” taking place on Sunday, April 14, at 3 p.m. at the Congregational Church of Westborough, 57 W. Main St. Five centuries of choral music will be represented, beginning with the delightful and frivolous madrigals of the 17th century through to the lush contemporary settings of romantic poetry by some of the 21st century’s youngest composers. The program will include madrigals, motets, Broadway show tunes, vocal jazz as well as classic and contemporary choral works.
